UIDAI has made these announcements through Twitter. UIDAI has said that its registrars are going to start Aadhaar-linked services in many states. These services will start in those states or districts where approval has been given in the guidelines issued under Lockdown 4.0. Apart from this, people will be able to link the ration card to Aadhaar while sitting at home.

Any person who wants to make any kind of change in the Aadhaar card can take an online appointment. For this, people can do it by going to https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/bookappointment.aspx or through the M Aadhaar app. However, after the appointment, the rule of social distance will have to be completely followed at the base center.

Can link ration card online

The date of linking ration card to Aadhaar has been extended till 30 September 2020. Ration card holder will continue to get ration even if there is no link. According to the Union Food Ministry, the ration card holder will be given ration even if there is a delay in the linking process. The ministry made it clear that the ration card of someone will not be canceled due to not being linked to the Aadhaar number. Rather, he will get the ration of his right.


The scheme is already in force in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand, Tripura, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab Himachal Pradesh and Daman-Diu.

Process to link Aadhaar to Ration Card

1. First of all visit the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) - uidai.gov.in, the Aadhaar issuing organization.

2. Click on 'Start Now' option.

3. Fill your address details - District and State.

4.Select the 'Ration Card' benefit type from the available options.

5. Select the 'Ration Card' scheme.

6. Enter your ration card number, Aadhaar number, e-mail address and mobile number.

7. One-time password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile. Fill OTP. After this, a notification of completion of the process will be seen on the screen.

8. Post this, your application will be verified and after successful verification, the Aadhaar card will be linked to the ration card.
