How can you check the status of Aadhar card?

A person applying for making Aadhaar card can check the status of their Aadhaar card on the UIDAI website. To do this, he should have an enrollment slip. This slip is available at the time of enrollment.

Remember that if you have given your mobile number at the time of applying for Aadhaar card, then UIDAI will send you an SMS once Aadhaar is generated.

How to check status on UIDAI website
STEP 1: Go to www.uidai.gov.in.
STEP 2: Click on 'Check Aadhaar Status' under the 'My Aadhaar' tab in the website.
STEP 3: You have to enter your enrollment ID. This ID is 14 digits long.
STEP 4: Enter captcha code and click 'Check Status'.
STEP 5: If Aadhaar is generated, you can download it from the website. If the phone number is registered with Aadhaar data then you can download it on your mobile as well.

How to check status from UIDAI helpline ::

Apart from the website, there is another way to check your Aadhaar. After enrollment, you can call the helpline 1947 of UIDAI. Keep following the instructions found on it. Have your enrollment ID ready. The reason is that you will need it to give all the information. Once the base is generated, the helpline gives you the facility to write your Aadhaar number. After writing the Aadhaar number, you can download it from the UIDAI website.

What to do if the enrollment slip is lost ::

If you lose the enrollment slip, you can get the 28-digit enrollment number again. After this the status of your Aadhaar card can be checked. However, to get this facility, your mobile number or email ID should be registered at the time of enrollment for Aadhaar.

STEP 1: Go to www.uidai.gov.in.
STEP 2: Select 'Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID / UID' under 'My Aadhaar' tab in the website.
STEP 3: The website will take you to a new page. Here you have to choose the option of 'Enrollment Number (EID)'.
STEP 4: Enter the details. Name as recorded in Aadhaar Enrollment Form. Email or mobile number and security code as in the website.
STEP 5: Click on Send OTP. OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
STEP 6: Enter OTP and click on 'Verify'.
STEP 7: After verification, the enrollment number will be sent to your email ID and mobile number.
On getting the enrollment number on the phone, follow the procedure mentioned above to check the Aadhaar status.
